A landscape is a major factor in giving a territory its own particular character. Great artists of the 15th and 16th centuries painted the very same hills, settlements, rivers, and rugged countryside that the inhabitants of Urbino and the Montefeltro region were able to gaze out over until the first decade of the 20th century.
